In Salem, Oregon, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were viciously attacked by radical left-wing rioters during a targeted enforcement operation. The brutal assault, which involved officers being attacked with baseball bats, was captured on video by reporter Katie Daviscourt from the Post Millennial.
The incident unfolded in a parking lot at 9:30 a.m. and lasted for half an hour. The footage was livestreamed on Facebook by Jose A. Garibay Esquivel, a rapid responder following the officers. Anti-ICE “response groups,” essentially violent liberal fringe organizations, mobilized to the scene and interfered with the operation, surrounding federal vehicles and using their bodies and vehicles to disrupt the enforcement.
According to Trending Politics News, some agitators even boxed in ICE vehicles with their cars. Interestingly, these protesters criticized immigration officials for wearing face coverings, yet they themselves wore masks. The presence of Antifa members during the incident was also reported.
These events followed a previous confrontation where an agitator jumped onto an ICE vehicle’s hood to block the windshield. Local and state law enforcement did not intervene due to Oregon sanctuary policies. These incidents align with the creation of “ICE Watch,” a network of liberal groups monitoring and disrupting ICE operations.
Assaults on ICE officers have surged during heightened immigration enforcement, as reported by the Department of Homeland Security. It is crucial to stand against such violent acts and protect those who serve to uphold the law. We must unite against this lawlessness and demand accountability from those who seek to disrupt our nation’s security.
