CNN’s Kaitlin Collins attempted to attack Tina Peters, the Republican former election clerk accused by Democrats of attempting to “overthrow” the 2020 election in a manner so absurd and ridiculous that even Democratic Governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, called her out on it. Polis insisted that Collins had her facts wrong and that Peters had not committed any crimes related to the election. Peters had only tried to copy election software for examination in a 2021 election due to suspicions about the 2020 election. Despite this, Peters was imprisoned but recently received clemency from Gov. Polis, who emphasized that the allegations against her were baseless and that she had committed no crime.
During an appearance on Collins’s show, Gov. Polis corrected her misinformation about Peters, highlighting that she had not meddled with ballots and had only copied software to check for rigging. He emphasized that Peters deserved punishment for other crimes she committed but not for the false accusations made against her. Gov. Polis expressed disagreement with Peters’ beliefs but clarified that they should not be the basis for an extended sentence. He criticized the unfairness of her original sentence and emphasized the importance of justice in the case.
In a post on X, Bo Loudon praised Gov. Polis for setting the record straight on live TV and commending him for commuting Peters’ sentence. The post highlighted Gov. Polis’s statement that Tina Peters had not committed any crimes related to the 2020 election. The exchange between Gov. Polis and Collins showcased the importance of factual accuracy and fairness in legal proceedings.
