VINELAND, NJ – A fatal police shooting is being investigated by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office after an individual allegedly highjacked a backhoe and flipped over several vehicles.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 am on Saturday at the Penn Lincoln Mobile Home Park. According to witnesses, the individual used a backhoe to flip over a police vehicle onto its side. The individual then severely damaged a second police vehicle, an ambulance, and a red sedan.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 am on Saturday at the Penn Lincoln Mobile Home Park. According to witnesses, the individual used a backhoe to flip over a police vehicle onto its side. The individual then severely damaged a second police vehicle, an ambulance, and a red sedan.

Theresa Marie was driving the red sedan and pulled over, hoping to avoid being struck, but the backhoe driver crashed right into her vehicle. Fortunately, she sustained only minor injuries.

Police shot the backhoe driver, and first aid was given to the individual immediately. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 5:48 am.

Three officers were treated for minor injuries and are expected to recover fully. It is unclear how the officers received their injuries.
